Visa applications are received between 9:00 hrs and 13.00 hrs. Passports presented before 11.00a.m may be ready for collection between 2 and 3 pm daily while the rest may be collected the following working day.
A self-addressed, stamped, and registered envelope should be enclosed for the return of passport in the case of applications received by post / courier.
The following are requirements for a visa:-
1. SINGLE ENTRY VISA FOR HOLIDAY/BUSINESS OR VISIT
• Duly filled Application form
• Original Passport with validity of not less than 6months
• One passport size photo
• Fee: Euros 40.00
2. TRANSIT VISA (must hold an onward ticket to destination)
• Duly filled Application form
• Original Passport with validity of not less than 6months
• One passport size photo
• Fee: Euros 20.00
3. MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA (1 YEAR)
• Requires approval from the Director of Immigration Services, Kenya
• Two duly filled Application forms with contact details of address in Kenya (COMPULSORY)
• Two copies of the passport with validity of not less than 6months
• Copies of passport pages showing visas and entry stamps of previous visits
• Two passport size photos
• Letter of introduction and application from employer/company
• Non Refundable Application Fee: Euros 10.00
• Processing time: 6 - 8 weeks or more
4. REFERRED VISAS (please refer to list of countries in this category)
• Requires approval from the Office of the Director of Immigration Services, Kenya
• Three duly filled Application forms
• Three copies of the passport with validity of not less than 6months
• Three passport size photos
• Copy of residence/work permit
• Non Refundable Application Fee: Euros 10.00
• Processing time: 8 weeks or more
• Note: It is advisable not to make travel arrangements unless the approval has been granted.
Note: multiple entry visas and referred visas applications are forwarded to Nairobi for processing and may only be issued after approval is received from the authorities in Kenya.
After approval we will require: -
• Duly filled Application form
• Original Passport with validity of not less than 6months
• One passport size photo
• A Single Entry Visa fee of Euros 40.00
• Multiple Journey visa fee: Euros 80.00

6. GENERAL INFORMATION: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
VISAS
Q. When is a transit visa issued?
A. A transit visa may be issued prior to a visit for the purpose of connecting
flights, applicant must hold valid onward air-ticket.
Q. Is the Kenya Embassy the only place a visa can be obtained?
A. No. Nationals from countries who do not fall in the “Referred Visa” category may be issued with a visa at any port of entry in Kenya provided they meet the usual immigration formalities.
Q. How long does the visa endorsed in a passport allow a visitor to stay in Kenya?
A. On arrival at the airport, the passport will be stamped with a visitors pass valid for the duration of visit or up to 3 months with effect from the date of arrival in Kenya. The visitor’s pass may be extended for another 3 months, if the extension meets all the immigration regulations. However the stay cannot exceed six months.
Q. If a visitor has a valid visa and visitor’s pass for Kenya and then decides to visit Tanzania or Uganda, then returns to Kenya within the validity, would they need another visa?
A. No. The Single Entry Visa allows multiple entries only from visiting Tanzania and Uganda.
HEALTH
• Persons from Europe, North America, Canada and Japan do not require yellow fever and cholera vaccination certificates to enter Kenya. Travellers from areas prevalent with yellow fever and cholera are required to have vaccination certificates. Malaria prevention is strongly recommended, and travellers are advised to bring along malaria prophylaxis as well as personal medicines, sun protection cream and mosquito repellent.
